34-35 Weeks

How Far Along? 35 Weeks! Only 5 weeks to go! I can't hardly wait!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +22ish

Baby Related Purchases: We bought primer and paint for the bookshelf that we painted turquoise last week (pics coming soon...) We returned the lamp/lampshade and got a new one. Got a bird painting to go above the rocking chair, and got showered with gifts from the baby shower that my small group threw for me :) Here are a few pics. Lucy got tons of great and useful stuff!

Stretch marks: Don't think so  - but I got a few sample sizes of some stretch mark lotion, so I might try that soon.

Sleep: Not too bad. I get up at least once a night, but normally can go right back to sleep.

Movement: I feel more kicking more often - that's for sure. Still nothing crazy or painful though.

What I miss: Running/Lifting Weights like I used to (I'm pretty much just walking these days...), bending over, twisting and turning in bed freely - now just getting out of bed is quite an ordeal! Some funny things I can't do very well anymore include: tying my shoes, painting my toenails, shaving my legs, etc...

Cravings: McDonald's Berry Smoothie- I love it and have had lots of them recently - so cool and refreshing! I've also had a lot of Zaxby's Grilled Chicken Salads.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope! Thankful for this!

Gender: Girl!

Labor Signs: No

Symptoms: My back hurts every morning when I wake up - I think it is from laying on my side the whole night - which I have never liked. Luckily, when I sit up the pain goes away.

Belly Button In or Out? Partially "out"  - this is why I am avoiding tight shirts!

Happy or Moody most of the time: This has been a great two weeks! Last week we kind of just recovered from Graduation Week. This week was Memorial Day - we spent it at the lake house and had lots of fun.

Worries: I have been blessed to have a textbook pregnancy so far. I always have measured the right centimeters per week, weight gain has been good, etc. However, this past week, I only grew 1 cm in 2 weeks. I was 33 cm at 34 weeks. Although my doctor said she wasn't really worried because sometimes "small girls have small babies" - haha- she scheduled me for an ultrasound to make sure the baby is growing okay. Needless to say this gave me a great excuse to worry! So I've been doing my best to eat everything in sight over the past few days to make sure this baby is growing on track! And also praying a lot- because I know baby Lucy is in the Lord's hands.

Best moments this week: Since these are my only blog posts these days, I have a lot to say in this section! Last weekend, we hung out with friends on Friday night - playing games and enjoying dinner together. On Saturday, we ran lots of errands, paid the bills, and I worked on a friend's website while Jason golfed in the afternoon. That night, we met up with friends at Thunder Over Augusta - a huge military appreciation event with Jason's favorite activity - fireworks! They really do have an amazing 30-minute, music-choreographed firework show every year that attracts huge crowds! This year they held the event in Evans for the first time and it was really nice and really crowded. We actually ended up walking to Zaxby's for food since all the food vendors were running out of it! On Sunday, we went to church, had lunch at Chili's with friends, and then I had my church baby shower.

This past week was pretty busy with work and after work activities. Jason is now working as an intern - at almost full time hours. He took a day off this past week for the Georgia Law part of his licensing process and also helped our friends Michael and Angelyn load up their moving truck this past Wednesday. On Friday we left for the lake house for our long-awaited three day weekend! We had lots of fun with the whole gang (including Kristen's new step-daughters, Brooke and Kristina) at the lake. On Friday we grilled out hamburgers, on Saturday me and my mom went on a walk, and everyone went on the boat (we had to go in two shifts since there was 11 of us and only 9 can go in the boat at a time). Over the weekend, I spent a lot of time reading baby/parenting books, went shopping a little with my mom, etc. Jason spent a fair amount of time helping my dad with projects around the house - this time they worked on fixing the loading part of the boat dock/lift. Overall it was fun to just hang out and talk with everyone. We're already sad the visit is over!

Looking forward to: My next baby shower next weekend in Atlanta!

Size of Baby: Your baby weighs nearly 5.5 pounds and will continue to gain about half a pound per week until you deliver. He or she stretches out to 18.5 inches and stem cells in the bone marrow continue to produce red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets to maintain a healthy immune system, but there is not really any development remaining for arms, legs, brain or organs. Your baby will simply continue to add that adorable baby fat as it readies for its big debut.

32-33 Weeks

What's new these past two weeks? I'm getting huge! See two pics above for evidence!

How Far Along? 33 Weeks! Only 7 weeks to go!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +20ish
Baby Related Purchases: We bought a rug from Ebay, some baskets for the bookshelf from Lowe's, some pillows from Target, and a lamp and lampshade from Target (still not sure about the lamp, if a better one comes along, I might return it...). Lucy also continues to be showered with gifts! Jason's parents brought us lots of diapers for her as well as two cute outfits.

Stretch marks: Don't think so  - but I got a few sample sizes of some stretch mark lotion, so I might try that soon.
Sleep: After about 3 weeks of no Snoogle, I was VERY happy to get it from my parents this weekend when they brought it from the Lake House when they visited for Jason's graduation! I no longer take up 75% of the bed!
Movement: The kicking and movement has gotten crazy over the past week or so! It happens a lot more often and is a lot stronger. It doesn't really hurt, and it is hilarious to watch my stomach move all around!
What I miss: Laying on my stomach, having a waist, getting to buy/try on normal cute clothes, drinking wine to celebrate special occasions (like Jason's Graduation!!!!)
Cravings: Pretty much just more quantity of food I liked before. I have started eating lots of tropical trail mix though - I guess that's new.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope! Thankful for this!
Gender: Girl!
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: The size of my stomach is finally starting to get in my way. I think I painted my toenails for the last time this week...even tying my shoes is getting really difficult - haha!
Belly Button In or Out? Partially "out"  - this is why I am avoiding tight shirts!
Happy or Moody most of the time: This has been a great two weeks! So happy about Jason's graduation and the nursery coming together!
Worries: These past two weekes have been preoccupied with one thing - DAYCARE! I have been all around town visiting all sorts of friends recommendations and trying to compare the pros and cons of each. It is really hard to determine which one is the right choice, or if we should wait to find someone who can watch her in their home. I am still open to options, so if anyone knows of a good caretaker in Augusta- please comment or let me know!
Best moments this week: Since these are my only blog posts these days, I have a lot to say in this section! Two weeks ago, we ended the week with a bang. I had Chick-Fil-A Leadercast with work (which I really enjoyed), and Jason had his last day of PT school ever on Friday! Then, we had Relay for Life that night. The next morning, we got up and went to Doctor's Hospital for the weekend Labor and Delivery class. Unfortunately, Jason had starting getting sick around Wednesday, and by Saturday he was really not feeling well. We took him to UrgentMD during our class lunch break and got him meds as fast as possible after the class. On Sunday he wasn't feeling much better, but we finished up our class anyways. We learned a lot and are glad we went.

On Monday, Jason experienced his first day of post-PT-school-freedom, but was took sick to enjoy it! :( He drove to Atlanta to pick up his brother Chris, who spent the week of graduation with us. Poor Chris had a pretty sickly host for the first few days or so! Although I had to work last week, we did have some way better than normal dinners due to our guest. I made Chicken Tortilla Soup one night and Jason made homemade BBQ chicken the next night. We also went out to Brusters one night with Chris.

On Wednesday night, Jason's parents got into town and we again enjoyed some frozen treats - this time at Tuttit Frutti. On Thursday, Jason and his fam hung out, and I met up with them around 6 pm at the Bell Auditorium for Jason's Hooding Ceremony - the first official event of his graduation.

I took the day off on Friday for more graduation festivities. It started off with a breakfast in North Augusta for just the PT Graduates. After that, we took some pics at Hammonds Ferry, and headed to the main graduation ceremony.

Jason with his family
Jason with my mom and dad and me
With Michael and Angelyn - Michael graduated that day too! We were getting a kick out of their hats!
After graduation, we went to 5 O'Clock Bistro for a delicious dinner - and prior to that, took some pics with the Diploma! Jason is officially a Doctor and done with 3 years of PT School! Yay!

Looking forward to: My next holiday - which is Memorial Day at the Lake House!
Size of Baby: Your baby is still gaining weight (about half a pound a week), and she could grow up to another full inch this week. With that much baby inside your uterus, your amniotic-fluid level has maxed out, which explains why some of her pokes and kicks feel pretty sharp these days. (There's less fluid to cushion the blows.) Antibodies are being passed from you to your little one as she continues to develop her own fetal immune system, which will come in handy once she's outside the womb and fending off all sorts of germs.
