29-31 Weeks

(No - I didn't plan wearing the same dress for both pics - apparently my wardrobe is limited!)

How Far Along? 31 Weeks! Only 9 weeks to go!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +19ish
Baby Related Purchases: I had my first shower on Saturday - thrown by my super sweet work friends. So I got TONS of adorable  baby girl stuff! I absolutely love it all - can't stop going through all the cute outfits! My parents got me a chair for the nursery which I am SOOOO excited about! Of course, Jason and I have been spending plenty of our own money as well! We bought pink gingham curtains, sheet set, and crib skirt for the nursery, as well as a crib mattress. We also bought all the paint and painting supplies for the nursery. We finished painting last night - just the white trim is left!
Stretch marks: Don't think so  - although I recently heard from some friends that it all happens at the end, maybe I should find some of that cream stuff...does it even work?
Sleep: I left the snoogle at the lake house, from when we went there with some of our friends from college. So now, I basically am taking over the majority of our queen sized bed with my pillow barricade (to give me back support/keep me sleeping on my side). Poor Jason!
Movement: More and more kicks! I love them and still get worried sometimes when I feel them less than normal. But what I have figured out is that she has days when she moves a lot and calmer days, and trying to pin down when she will move is just impossible.
What I miss: Laying on my stomach, having a waist, getting to buy/try on normal cute clothes.
Cravings: Nothing in particular, just lots of food in general. My appetite is definitely kicked up a notch these days!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope! Thankful for this!
Gender: Girl!
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Getting harder and harder to bend over. I have actually started to ask for help in this area - mainly from Jason. I have had two leg muscle spasms at night - which I heard are pregnancy-related. Super weird - the first one freaked me out, 2nd one, not really. One time when I was sitting on the couch, I got really severe like stretching pain in my stomach for a good 30 minutes. I couldn't really move without intensifying the pain - again, kinda weird - but it went away.
Belly Button In or Out? Partially "out" - I even had to try the band-aid trick when I work a dress this past week.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Feeling happy most of the time, I have loved getting more baby stuff and getting the nursery ready - although it has been keeping me very busy and made a bad blogger out of me!
Worries: I am still worried - or think a lot about whether she will be healthy or not. I really hope that the rest of my pregnancy will continue to go well and that birth will go well so that our little baby can start her life off good, strong and healthy!
Best moments this week: Since these are my only blog posts these days, I have a lot to say in this section! The weekend after Easter, Jason and I just hung around Augusta. On Saturday morning we went to Golden Harvest Food Bank with our Sunday School and had lunch at the Pizza Joint downtown afterwards. We also did some furniture moving. We moved the desk from the office to our family room, moved our bookshelf to the guest bedroom (temporarily), and Jason assembled the crib and dresser - while I went through the bills, did the budget, etc. That week, I got my haircut, and we got ready for our trip to the lake house with some friends from college.

That weekend we met up with Angelyn, Michael, Teresa, Eric, Darryl, and Brenda to reunite for our annual lake house trip. Mainly, the trip was to say good-bye to Angelyn and Michael - who are moving to Memphis in a week or so! :( Unfortunately, the boat was out of commission at the boat repair shop and the lake was extremely low, due to some repair work they are doing on the dam. So our weekend consisted of a lot of hanging out and talking, eating delicious food, going on a walk, playing croquet, some kayak rides, and some game playing. It was a great time to reunite and hear about all the exciting things happening in everyone's life (Ex: House buying, House Hunting, Babies, Moving, Graduating from school, etc.!) I need to do a separate post about the trip and include the photos that my friends took!

That next week, I had my 30 week doctors appointment and everything went well. I found out that I do not have Gestational Diabetes - so praise God for that! Seriously, I am so thankful for all the answers to my prayers that this pregnancy has gone well so far. It is completely in the Lord's hands and I am amazed every day at his faithfulness.  I have never felt so dependent on God, and he has not let me down. :) I also went to a Breast Feeding class at the hospital I will be giving birth at - and learned a lot/realized how much I have yet to learn over the next 9 weeks! Last week was pretty crazy and exhausting because Jason and I spent most week nights painting the nursery.

This past weekend, we hung out with friends on Friday night, had dinner together, and played our favorite game - Settlers of Catan. We spent a lot of time talking about babies - I'm so thankful for friends that have little ones already who can give me some much-needed advice! On Saturday, Jason and I went on a mad cleaning streak to get the house looking semi-acceptable for my mom and sister who drove into town for my shower. Once they got there, we had a girl's lunch at Pickle's Cafe in Evans - that was actually really good. After that, we headed to my work shower. It was so much fun and deserves a post in itself.

After the shower, we picked Jason up and went for a long walk along the canal before Kristen and my mom had to drive back to Atlanta. Then, I went to the dollar theatre with some friends to see The Vow - I had heard some mixed reviews about it - but I loved it! Totally worth $1.99! On Sunday, we did some more painting and relaxed around the house as well.

Looking forward to: Jason is graduating in less than 2 weeks! I am so excited for him and for the time we will get to spend with family when they visit.

Size of Baby: Weighing in at three-plus pounds and measuring 18 inches long, your baby is quickly approaching his birth length — though he's got to pack on another three to five pounds before D-day. Also developing at an impressive clip: your baby's brain connections (he's got to make trillions of them!). He's now processing information, tracking light, and perceiving signals from all five senses. He's also putting in longer stretches of sleep, which is why you're probably noticing more defined patterns of wakefulness (and movement) and rest (when he’s pretty still).

28 Weeks

How Far Along? 28 and 1/2 weeks
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +17ish
Baby Related Purchases: Lucy got her own Easter basket from my parents (er...the Easter Bunny...) at the lake house this weekend. But Jason and I ate all her candy already haha. She also got a little stuffed animal kitten that we will put in her nursery.
Stretch marks: Don't think so
Sleep: I never know what to expect, I either sleep fine, or wake up a fair amount. However, sleep is still going pretty well overall for me. I need to start going to sleep earlier - that's my problem!
Movement: I feel her kick and move around more and more - the movements are stronger too, I'm starting to be able to imagine what painful kicking might be like.
What I miss: Running! I can't wait to run really fast (or fast by my standards...) outside again. Right now, I just don't feel comfortable doing so, plus I get side cramps a lot easier now, so I'm pretty sure that would happen the moment I started running.
Cravings: I don't think I've written yet that I eat TONS of popcorn. It is a great snack for when I get hungry at work in the afternoons and need something salty.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope! Thankful for this!
Gender: Girl!
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Still backaches, can't get comfortable as easily - especially on the couch at night. It is starting to get hard to bend over...weird!
Belly Button In or Out? I like how another blogger put it - it's not "In" or "Out", it just is.
Happy or Moody most of the time: I loved how I got to enjoy two four-day work weeks over the past two weeks (one for my sister's wedding, and one for Good Friday - the week of Masters).
Worries: Haven't really worried about much this week! Yay!
Best moments this week: Last week was the Masters here in Augusta! We were really lucky to rent our house out for Masters from Wednesday-Sunday. On the Sunday after my sister's wedding, I drove back home for a week of work, while Jason stayed in Atlanta for interviews. On Monday night, I was exhausted and didn't manage to do any cleaning to get ready for our house guests. That left only one night - Tuesday to do TONS of cleaning. Thanks for my procrastination I had the most productive evening of my life. On the way home from work, I stopped at Kroger, got groceries for all the snack foods and toiletries for our renters. When I got home I made dinner, swept the deck, wiped our table clean from pollen, cleaned both bathrooms, did about 100 loads of laundry, folded about a 100 loads of laundry (all our clothes had to be clean and folded away, and all the beds had to have fresh sheets on them), swept/swiffered the entire house, packed my clothes for the next 5 days, put away all of our personal photos, packed away my jewelry, our mail, and the list goes on and on! To make it worse, there was this crazy downpour of rain - so I had to put off a lot of things until the morning (putting out the trash, etc.) The morning was even crazier, with all the last minute packing, making sure everything looked perfect, getting all the keys hidden etc. It was super exhausting and during this process I promised myself that I would reward myself somehow and buy something "fun" with our Masters money.

On Wednesday after work, I headed to the food court for dinner, then bought a few maternity clothes (shorts, black dress pants). Then, I headed over to Michael and Angelyn's where I crashed for the night - the location of my last photo-op

On Thursday, I got the experience of a lifetime - I got to go to the Masters! It was a really fun surprise. There was an extra ticket from someone at work, so Stephanie and me went together in the afternoon. From a first glance, I felt like I was in Disneyland - with the entry gate, all the perfectly manicured lawns, walkways, nice buildings, etc. Then I got to be like 3 feet away from Tiger Woods a few times! We also followed some other people who were "leading" at the time - but since it was the first day of competition, all those people ended up losing pretty badly... I even got to eat some food, which I had heard lots about, although I did opt for a Grilled Chicken Ceasar Wrap - only 3 bucks! over the  traditional Pimento Cheese sandwich. The craziest part of the day was the gift shop! People were spending an arm and a leg in there for Masters propaganda. I ended up caving and bought something things for gifts - and got Jason and early graduation present - his first Masters polo! When we were done, we walked out to the Fresh Market parking lot, which we figured was a "perfect" place to park - only to find huge signs everywhere warning about "Police Enforcement/No Parking" - I felt my stomach sink as I raced to the car to make sure it was still there, didn't have an obscene ticket on it - or a boot. Praise Jesus - who answered my prayer then and there - the police spared me and I didn't even have a ticket!

After the Masters, I dropped Stephanie off and drove to the lake house to meet up with my family, Jason and Samia to enjoy some burgers. That night we just hung out and talked. On Friday, it was kinda cold and cloudy the whole day, so the whole crew went to the outlet malls and Walmart together - it's quite a trek out there from the lake house. We got Jason a few new polos and looked at (but didn't buy) tons of cute clothes at the Carter's Outlet - def. heading back there later! I think we also went on a walk that day. We watched Secret Church that night as our own Satellite Church - which was super awesome. If you have never watched Secret Church - I encourage you to watch the free recordings here - I always learn a ton and am very inspired by the teachings of David Platt. Plus, it was very fitting to learn about suffering for Christ on Good Friday.

On Saturday, it was sunny and warm and we enjoyed another walk, some time in the boat out on the lake, fishing, etc. Jason and I even got to enjoy a kayak ride together. We then went to Johnny's for live music - our family tradition - it was fun, although this time, the music was so loud we could barely hear each other! We came back, had some ice cream and the adults got to hang out and talk about Jason's job prospects, our future plans, etc. until bedtime.

On Sunday morning (when I was 28 weeks pregnant exactly), Jason drove back to Augusta to teach Sunday School. I decided to stay back and spend the morning with my family. I helped out by making Sweet Potato Biscuits, Honey Butter, and Scalloped Potatoes - all with my little sis. We also had salmon, green beans, and strawberries. Even though the kids insisted on talking about how gross the salmon was the entire lunch - it was still very delicious! Before I left, we hid eggs for an egg hunt - S and L went absolutely nuts about this and were literally sprinting around the huge yard. They found all 65 eggs in like 5-10 minutes! Then I headed back to Augusta for another week.

Looking forward to: July 1st! or whenever the due date is. Prior to that though, I'm looking forward to Jason's graduation in early May!
Size of Baby: This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

25 Weeks - 27 Weeks!

How Far Along? 27 and 1/2 weeks
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +16ish
Baby Related Purchases: Wow, since three weeks have passed, it is hard to say. At our garage sale, we sold our couch and one of our bookshelves. This freed up space for baby stuff- finally! Also, we made enough money at the garage sale to buy the dresser I wanted from Ikea last weekend! Yay! While I was in town for the wedding, I got an adorable little doll from my Uncle Mark and Aunt Jeanette, and lots of really cute clothes from my Grandpa Flores and Grandma Susan. At the garage sale, I got some wooden blocks from Angelyn that she was planning on selling. I also bought a little white stuffed animal that she won at the fair - when I first found out I was pregnant
Stretch marks: Don't think so
Sleep: Depends, at this point, I need a barricade of pillows, or  the snoogle to sleep well, not on my back - Jason will never forgive me for when I made him sleep on the floor one night when we were in the Atlanta for the wedding. Problem was, we were both trying to fit on my little sister's bed that was smaller than normal (I think a double). Sorry!
Movement: Feeling more and more movement every day! It is getting stronger than it was at first. Last night, for the first time, I tried to get her to move by pressing on my stomach - and it worked! That was pretty cool.
What I miss: I miss being able to enjoy margaritas and wine (esp. at my sister's wedding last weekend)
Cravings: I decided to admit that my main craving has been french fries. I have consumed more than I care to admit. I guess one awesome thing about pregnancy is that something that would have filled me up for days in the past (Ex: french fries, sandwich, and frosty from Wendy's) fills me up just for a few hours now!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope! Thankful for this!
Gender: Girl!
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Main symptom is still backache's sometimes at night, or on road trips
Belly Button In or Out? In - but getting a LOT shallower! I think having an "outie" belly button is going to be really weird!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Really happy lately about the wonderful sunny warm weather that we have been able to enjoy! Jason and I have already gone on quite a few walks and bike rides together. I love how it stays light later in the evenings.
Worries: Main worry these past few weeks has been whenever I stopped feeling kicks for a day or so. That really freaks me out. Luckily, she always starts kicking again. I watched an episode of 19 kids and counting where they were talking about her miscarriage, and it made me really sad. :(
Best moments this week: Lots of stuff happend over the last three weeks - hence the no blogging! One weekend we started off Friday night by watching "That Thing You Do" with the Vaughans, the next morning, I went to Atlanta, where I got some much needed computer help from my dad, and went maternity clothes shopping with my mom. I got a ton of cute stuff and she bought me clothes as well - including a really cute dress to wear for wedding festivities. On Sunday, I went to church with my family, we had lunch outside, I did more computer stuff with dad, then met with Greta and Kristen at the wedding venue (Paper Mill Grill in Marietta) to go over last minute wedding details. That night, I had dinner with Ben and Kristen and the fam before heading back to Augusta. That weekend, Jason stayed home to tend to stuff around Augusta.

The next week, Jason and I spent A LOT OF time going through stuff/organizing stuff for the garage sale. We did garage sale prep Friday night and Saturday with the Vaughans. Unfortunately, our yard sale was not as well documented as it was last year - see blog post.... after getting up so early for the yard sale (which BTW, we were super lucky it didn't get rained out), we went out to spend some of our earnings on FroYo :) On Sunday we went to church, had a cookout at church, spent more earnings on pine straw (to get ready for our masters renters), then capped off the weekend by going to see Hunger Games!

This past weekend was my sister's wedding! This really deserves a post in itself. Jason took lots of video footage, so I'm sure we will post it when he gets a chance to edit the video. I took Friday off, drove in on Thursday night, and got to meet Kristen's new daughter-in-laws on Thursday night. On Friday morning, I worked out, prepped for my toast, we had the bridesmaids luncheon at the club, then I went to nails with Kristen, picked up her wedding dress, got ready for rehearsal, went to rehearsal, then we had the rehearsal dinner at Pappasitos - Jason met us there since he had to work on Friday. O Saturday morning, my mom, sister, and me went to salon to get hair and makeup done, headed to the wedding, got ready, had the wedding, then photos, etc.  On Saturday night, we hung out at the house with extended family from Texas (Uncle Mark, Aunt Jeanette, Grandpa Flores, Grandma Susan, and my cousin Jonna), I went on a walk with my mom (while the guys watched March Madness), and we had Pappasitos leftovers. On Sunday, the guys with golfing, the girls hung out, I worked out, then Jason and I went to lunch with the Baaremans. After lunch, the Baareman's joined me on my search for the perfect fabric for baby girl's curtains. First, we went to Fabric.com, which ended up not being a store front - like I had hoped, we then tried Forsyth Fabrics - where I found a pink gingham that so far is my favorite. Finally, we went to Ikea to pick up our dresser. After the Baaremans hit the road, just me and Jason went to Drews house to drop off some stuff he had left at the lake house. Then Jason and I went home and hung out by ourselves, since my family and Uncle Mark and Aunt Jeanette had gone to the lake house on Sunday. I had to drive home on Sunday night while Jason stayed back for some interviews.
Looking forward to: July 1st! or whenever the due date is. Prior to that though, I'm looking forward to Jason's graduation in early May!
